In 1940, our numbers grew to 53; in 1950 we were seventy nine; by 1960 our membership swelled to 131 and in 1970 we reached a total of 151 chartered members.

Our club has met continuously at the Country Club of Coral Gables since its inception, with several short periods of exception due to improvements of the building (we are currently waiting for repairs to be completed again). Today, we pay $13 for lunch, compared to the thirty five cents our founding members paid.

Perfect attendance is a subject of prde within this club. W. L. Gray, Jr. set the record of 36 years of never having missed a meeting of this club, without having made it up at another club. Frank Poe first joined our club in 1953 and has rarely missed a meeting in the past 50 years.

Over the years, our membership has increaded and decreased greatly. We are currently in a new and exciting growth phase, having doubled our membership since year 2000.

We are proud to have sponsored the Key Club at Coral Gables High School and the George Merrick Boy Scout program on the Granada Greenway since the mid-1950s, as well as myriad of youth oriented programs and projects that benefit our community.

During the 20th Century, our club was founded and populated by outstanding members of our community that believed in the power of a helping hand. As we now continue this legacy into the 21st Century, we expect to carry on the traditions of caring and helping the youth of our city, as well as those around the world, through our Kiwanis International organization.
